Javier Cerro is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in purchasing, trade marketing, and negotiation. He holds advanced degrees from prestigious institutions, including Harvard Law School, where he studied U.S. and European comparative bankruptcy law, and at Université Catholique de Louvain, where he earned a Master’s in International Economic Law. Javier has over 20 years of experience in the retail and B2B sectors, having held leadership roles in major companies such as CESCE, Sodexo (Spain, Portugal and Morocco), and Compass Group PLC (UK). Currently, he serves as Purchasing and Trade Marketing Director for the Food Service division at El Corte Inglés, overseeing large-scale procurement and marketing strategies.
Javier also has a strong academic background, having taught negotiation and conflict resolution at renowned institutions such as Instituto de Empresa (IE), CUNEF and Audencia Business School in Nantes (FR). His teaching has spanned a variety of programs, including cross-subject integration in master’s and executive programs such as for BBVA. He has published articles on trade negotiation strategies in Grupo Recoletos (Expansión) and continues to contribute to thought leadership in his field as recently did for the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá.
Javier brings a global perspective to his work, having worked in US and in several European countries, defining international negotiation and purchasing strategies.
